Lavish summer florals for the grand re-opening of a Gold Coast wedding venue.

Lavish summer florals for the grand re-opening of a Gold Coast wedding venue.

The brief was decadence. An abundance of luxurious flowers, styled in a way that would best showcase the newly renovated Austinvilla Estate. Our intent was to create a luxurious table scape, to accompany delicate draping, classic table dressings and flickering candlelight.

We set up in the homestead reception area. Soaring ceilings, iridescent chandeliers and picturesque views over the valley served as the perfect backdrop. How lucky the couples are booked to wed in this stunning location.

The day was hot. The middle of February kind of hot. Challenging. But with a water mister and a whole heap of pre-prep, we pushed through to create something beautiful. Working alongside a team of leading industry vendors was such a pleasure and together we created something special.

The Colours:

We wanted to use classic green and white, with a modern twist. For us, following nature’s lead and leaning into the seasons ensures we can deliver the freshest installations. A bonus if you get that full sensory experience of smell and texture too! Lucky for us, this styled shoot fell in the peak of hydrangea and rose season.

Pink: We used burnt pinks, coupled with soft, marshmallow-like garden roses that filled the room with a sweet, lolly scent. The deep burgundy leaves of after-dark foliage created depth and contrast against the lighter, more delicate blush hues.

Green: The green in this installation was chosen with a lot of care. We wanted to create a modern and luxurious ambiance, but not too moody. We wanted it to feel youthful and fresh. The greens we chose were a gentle nod to the stunning backdrop of rolling green hills. We used hanging amaranths, whimsy pittosporum and bright green heads of hydrangea.

White: The bridal bouquet needed to be simplistic. We didn’t want it to compete with the stunning dress by Karen Willis Homes, or the innately detailed florals. We chose classic Calla lilies, wrapped in simple silk ribbon.
